Who we are
The Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics (DG INLO) is responsible for overseeing the European Parliament's vast infrastructure portfolio, which spans around 1.3 million square meters of building space across Europe. This includes a variety of tasks that are crucial to ensuring the smooth functioning and sustainability of the Parliament's operations. DG INLO's responsibilities go beyond just building management; it is also in charge of a range of essential services such as catering, mail distribution, furniture management, and transport for Parliament Members and staff. This comprehensive approach ensures that all physical and logistical needs are met, supporting the European Parliament’s political activities in a sustainable way.
In the context of the development of its activities, the Facilities Management Unit in Luxembourg of DG INLO is looking to strengthen its team with a graduate in architecture or engineering related to the building sector.
Your tasks
The trainee will assist the Infrastructure Management Unit team in Luxembourg in the following areas: structural stability, insulation, waterproofing, facades, and building finishing work, and more specifically in:
- managing and monitoring maintenance of aspects related to the facade, roof, and interior fittings;
- tracking open points or reports in the management software;
- defining technical files and specifications covering this area of activity;
- organising and managing any documentation related to the field of activity, including electronic documents.
You are
- Desired profile: architect or building engineer;
- You have a good knowledge of building construction techniques and building regulations and are able to work independently;
- Experience in project or contract management is considered a strong asset;
- A very good knowledge of French is required. Knowledge of English is considered an advantage;
- Knowledge of eco-construction and eco-management would be an asset.
You have obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship.
