Who we are
The Directorate-General for Information Technologies and Cybersecurity (DG ITEC) delivers digitally advanced, secure, resilient, compliant and sustainable information and communications technology (ICT) services for the European Parliament.
The Procurement and Contracts Management Unit is in charge of public procurement procedures for DG ITEC and provides advice and assistance to the authorising officers and the operational services in the areas of public procurement and contract execution. Furthermore, among other missions, the unit assures the coordination of inter-institutional public procurement procedures and the representation of DG ITEC to the inter-institutional committees and working groups in relation to public procurement and contract management.
The Contracts Administration Service within the Procurement unit fulfils the mission of the Unit especially by overseeing the contract management and ensuring correct and harmonised execution of IT contracts and high quality of files concerning the implementation of contracts.
Your tasks
The future Schuman trainee shall be part of the Contract Administration team and shall be involved in the on-going projects of the team such as:
- Improvement of internal communication on contract management rules and best practices withing the DG;
- Drafting of guidelines, instructions etc. to the operational units within DG ITEC related to contract interpretation, public procurement and internal workflows;
- Providing assistance to the operational units concerning contract execution, contract interpretation issues and public procurement;
- Other tasks linked to IT contract management.
You are
- You have obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship;
- You are a law graduate (or similar degree, such as public administration, economics etc.) with interest in public procurement;
- Previous experience in public procurement is an advantage;
- Working language is mainly English, good knowledge of French is considered an asset.
