Who we are
The Directorate-General for Finance, hereinafter DG FINS, is responsible for Parliament’s budgetary and financial management. Based in both Luxembourg and Brussels, it draws up Parliament's budget, keeps Parliament’s accounts and prepares its financial statements, manages Members' allowances and entitlements, and finances Parliament’s political groups, as well as political parties and foundations at European level. DG FINS consists of three Directorates, 17 Units and the Central Secretariat. DG FINS plays a key and varied role in Parliament’s administration and is a trusted interlocutor for Members and political authorities. Joining DG FINS as a trainee will certainly boost your career. Within DG FINS, the FMS Competence Centre is part of the Directorate for Budget and Financial Services. It is responsible for implementing SAP solutions to manage the European Parliament's budget as well as Members' (MEPs) financial entitlements.
Your tasks
- Join the FMS Support Team contributing to enhance end-user support quality for SAP Solutions within the unit;
- Develop comprehensive learning materials, including user guides, technical documentation, and interactive simulations using SAP Enable Now, while gaining deep insights into the European Parliament’s financial and procurement processes;
- Participate in specialised FMS training sessions related to FMS further strengthening your knowledge of both the system and its related applications.
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Assisting in the FMS Feature Testing: Ensuring usability before official release;
- User Support: Troubleshooting and direct problem-solving for end users;
- Contributing to the continuous improvement and modernisation of digital learning resources;
- Contributing to ongoing strategic projects currently being implemented by the Unit.
You are
- Highly organised and curious professional with a keen interest in finance and IT systems, regardless of current depth of knowledge;
- Exceptional communicator skilled at translating complex technical information into clear, efficient, and engaging learning materials;
- Strongly motivated by the European Parliament’s multicultural environment and comfortable collaborating in diverse teams;
- Systematic thinker with a proven ability to master new IT systems quickly and work autonomously as needed;
- Proactive and adaptable, with a willingness to take initiative, share creative ideas, and step outside your comfort zone to improve processes;
- You have obtained a Vocational education qualification (EQF level 3, 4 or 5) or a University degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship;
- Familiarity with SAP is not required but is considered a valuable asset.
