Who we are
The Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics (DG INLO) is responsible for overseeing the European Parliament's vast infrastructure portfolio, which spans around 1.3 million square meters of building space across Europe. This includes a variety of tasks that are crucial to ensuring the smooth functioning and sustainability of the Parliament's operations.
DG INLO's responsibilities go beyond just building management; it is also in charge of a range of essential services such as catering, mail distribution, furniture management, and transport for Parliament Members and staff. This comprehensive approach ensures that all physical and logistical needs are met, supporting the European Parliament’s political activities in a sustainable way.
The Luxembourg Environmental and Sustainable upgrade Unit is in charge of the site of Luxembourg and of all European Parliament Liaison Offices. We are committed to improve the sustainability of our buildings by rationalising their use, improving their energy efficiency, and maintaining state-of-the-art installation, in order to reduce their overall carbon footprint.
Your tasks
The selected trainee will support the Luxembourg Environmental and Sustainable Upgrade Unit team, in fulfilling its mission to:
- Manage the facilities of the liaison offices, including the Europa Experience facilities (except the France and Bazoches offices);
- Regarding the European liaison offices, serve as the central point of contact for Directorate-General for Communication (DG COMM) and the European Commission;
- Prepare technical specifications, contribute to calls for tenders, and implement new contracts;
- Assume responsibility for Parliament's Community eco-management and audit scheme (EMAS) engagement and processes. Actively contribute to EMAS objectives;
- Adopt innovative approaches in these procedures to ensure optimal use of available resources.
You are
We are looking for a trainee to join our team of building engineers and technicians to support them in the management of liaison offices and building maintenance. The trainee will collaborate with the team on internal logistics and be able to work in a multicultural environment, working with technical, legal, and environmental experts.
You preferably have a diploma relating to the domain of building management (architect, engineer or equivalent). Professional working knowledge of English is desired.
