The Directorate-General for Information Technologies and Cybersecurity (ITEC) delivers digitally advanced, secure, resilient, compliant and sustainable information and communications technology (ICT) services.
LCO Coordination and EP-CERT Unit (CYBERCO) Support DG ITEC’s Director-General in the EP-LCO role defined by Article 4(2) of the Bureau Decision of 10 February 2025 and required by Article 6(8) of EU Regulation 2023/2841 of 13 December 2023 with the coordination of tasks required to ensure Parliament's compliance with the Bureau decision and the regulation, including the supervision of the Parliament’s cybersecurity emergency response team (EP-CERT) to ensure compliance with cybersecurity incidents reporting obligations.
The trainee will be part of EP-CERT team assisting on improving, from one part incident detection and response capabilities and on the other, helping build threat intelligence capabilities through analysis of threat detections.
Your tasks
The Trainee will assist in analysing incidents and/or performing activities related to various aspects of incident response including, but not limited to:
- Help investigation of incidents, produce and handle indicators of compromise to be used to support detecting and hunting activities;
- Active participation in attack analysis as part of security incident response;
- Active participation in security products evaluation;
- Assisting in documenting and creating reports for recommendations, mitigations and defences in the field of cybersecurity including AI cybersecurity aspects;
- Assist in-depth research and tracking of the latest adversarial techniques and technologies including AI emerging threats;
- Forensic investigation of mobile and desktop devices;
- Research in forensic related subjects in iOS and Android.
You are
The candidate should have a Degree in IT, IT security or related sciences;
Additionally the following qualifications will be taken into account:
- Understanding or basic IT security concepts, standards, policies procedures, tools and controls;
- Understanding of networking, E-mail technologies and software development;
- Understanding risks and benefits of Artificial Intelligence in Cybersecurity;
- Prior experience working with Windows or Linux OS;
- Ability to work both independently and within a team;
- Strong desire to continually learn and improve;
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
