Who we are

The Directorate-General for Information Technologies and Cybersecurity (DG ITEC) delivers digitally advanced, secure, resilient, compliant and sustainable information and communications technology (ICT) services.

Human Resources Unit of the DG ITEC proposes a dynamic and multi-faceted traineeship experience, encompassing a whole range of HR topics, touching upon recruitment, outreach, analysis/reporting, career guidance, HR training, research, and administrative support, just to mention a few key areas. The Unit is currently understaffed, hence a trainee is expected to assume a significant amount of tasks and workload, always under the supervision of the Head of Unit as well as the team Members. The traineeship with HR Unit will provide an excellent overview of a full spectrum of HR work in a context of a modern and dynamic organisation.

 

Your tasks

The trainee will be fully integrated in the day-to-day work of the Unit comprised seven staff members, which provides 360 degree HR services to a large and diverse Directorate which comprises 650 staff members. The entire team is based in Luxembourg while the Directorate-General is located across three working sites of Brussels, Luxembourg and Strasbourg. The trainee is expected to assist in the entire recruitment cycle, staff planning and management, Unit's outreach activities (attendance and presentation in job fairs and various external and internal recruitment events), providing research and statistical analysis, help to prepare materials for and deliver trainings and presentations on HR matters to staff and external audiences, assist in DG ITEC's trainees' management by helping to organise tailor-made events for them. Additionally, the recruited person may elect a longer term project from amongst on-going horizontal HR special projects falling under the remit of the Unit's mandate.
