Who we are

The Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics (DG INLO) is responsible for overseeing the European Parliament's vast infrastructure portfolio, which spans 1.2 million square meters of building space across Europe. This includes a variety of tasks that are crucial to ensuring the smooth functioning and sustainability of the Parliament's operations. DG INLO's responsibilities go beyond just building management; it is also in charge of a range of essential services such as catering, mail distribution, furniture management, and transport for Parliament Members and staff. This comprehensive approach ensures that all physical and logistical needs are met, supporting the European Parliament’s political activities in a sustainable way.

The Human Resources Unit within DG INLO plays a vital role in enabling the Directorate-General to meet its operational goals. As a trusted HR business partner, the unit focuses on delivering high-quality services to ensure the right people are in place for the right tasks. The HR team is responsible for talent sourcing, recruitment, and fostering the professional development of staff, ensuring that employees are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to contribute effectively to the Directorate-General's objectives. The unit is also responsible for seamlessly managing and coordinating records and various staff administration processes.

Your tasks

As a member of the HR team within the Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics (DG INLO), you will be exposed to a wide array of human resources processes, gaining practical experience and understanding of how HR functions within a large-scale international organization like the European Parliament.

You will get hands-on experience in key HR processes such as onboarding, talent management, and employee development. This will allow you to contribute to the efficient and effective management of the Directorate-General's human capital.

Additionally, this role will give you the opportunity to work with and familiarize yourself with the European Parliament's IT tools and systems. These tools are integral for streamlining HR operations, such as managing employee data, tracking recruitment processes, and supporting professional development programs.

Moreover, as you interact with various departments and teams, you will develop a deeper understanding of how HR interacts with other parts of the European Parliament.

You are

This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about human resource management and eager to support the growth and development of an organization. Your enthusiasm for HR will drive you to continuously seek ways to improve processes and engage with stakeholders.

As someone who thrives in a multicultural environment, you will appreciate the diverse team members and stakeholders you will interact with, given the European Parliament's international nature.

Your strong communication skills will be key to your success in this role.

In terms of qualifications, a degree in HR management, public administration, economics, business, law, or a related field is highly valued. While not always required, such a degree will give you a solid foundation in understanding organizational structures, staff regulations, and economic principles that are crucial for managing human resources effectively.

Finally, proficiency in English or French is essential for this role. Since English and French are the working languages of the European Parliament, being proficient in one (or both) of these languages will enable you to communicate effectively in written and spoken formats. Whether it’s drafting documents, following(-up) meetings, or engaging in discussions, being comfortable with the language requirements is critical for your success in the role.
