Who we are

If you would like to gain experience in the field of human resources within a large multicultural organisation such as the European Parliament, apply for one of the traineeships in DG PERS!

The Directorate-General for Personnel (DG PERS) is broadly responsible for managing the human resources of the European Parliament's Secretariat, so that it can provide the Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) with the assistance they need to fulfil their mandate.

More specifically, DG PERS manages the different groups of staff throughout their career, in areas such as:

  • Selection, recruitment, entry, training, career development;
  • Management of rights and obligations, salary, allowances, pension rights;
  • Protection and well-being at work;
  • Strategies to improve and promote equality, diversity and inclusion;
  • Management of trainees;
  • Internal communication in the institution.

The Well-Being at Work Service has as a mission to make the European Parliament a workplace that is healthy, safe, engaging and conducive to its employees’ well-being.

This is achieved through preparing and implementing policies in the area of prevention and well-being at work and serving as a source of expertise and an advocate of the best practices in these areas. More specifically:

  • We develop and implement projects and policies in the field of occupational health and well-being, and we support all HR departments to make sure that the working environment in our Institution is healthy, engaging, and conducive to staff well-being;
  • We organise education and awareness-raising activities targeting both staff and management to empower them to make well-informed decisions about health and well-being for themselves, their teams, and the whole institution, while providing them with workplace resources to do so;
  • We promote good health and ensure that the staff members have the information on how to access adequate and timely support and care in all areas of occupational health (medical, psychological, social).

 

Your tasks

As a member of team of the Well-Being at Work Service, you will have the following tasks:

  • Participation in the organisation of psychosocial risk assessments;
  • Participation in the implementation of health and well-being initiatives and projects of the Service and based on need direct involvement in specific projects on the level of the Unit and Directorate in the same area;
  • Participation in the execution of the mental health strategy, including mental health awareness-raising and promotion activities, and contact with relevant stakeholders;
  • Support with organisation of events, webinars and training courses on topics of mental health promotion and prevention;
  • Preparation of communication materials, such as articles, Intranet content, brochures, etc.;
  • Conducting research on best practices in the field and proposing new solutions and developments where possible.

 

You are

If you:

  • Have a background and/or experience in communication, marketing or similar field; other profiles will also be considered, especially those with background in human resources, organisational psychology, and/or occupational health;
  • Have an interest in the occupational health, well-being, and mental health matters would be an advantage;
  • Are conscientious, detail-oriented and able to carry out tasks independently;
  • Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Have a sense of initiative and ability to propose new solutions;
  • Are open-minded and like to work in a team;
  • Have an excellent knowledge of English and a good level of French.
