Who we are

The Directorate-General for External Policies (DG EXPO) is made up of four directorates: Committees, Regions (covering interparliamentary delegations), Resources and Democracy Support.

Staff of DG EXPO form a European team of advisers supporting the European Parliament's President and political bodies in their work on the EU's external policies. Colleagues in DG EXPO provide advice on matters of substance and procedure, liaise with other EU institutions and manage resources. The focus is on legislation, parliamentary oversight of the European Commission and EEAS, and support for parliamentary democracy. Most of the work is done in Brussels.

Within DG EXPO, the Communications and Outreach Unit assists colleagues across the DG to communicate about the European Parliament's efforts to shape and deliver foreign policy. Reporting directly to the Director-General and working alongside the DG's Strategy Unit, the Communications Unit provides a service to Units and colleagues across the DG and works with a variety of media and audiences.

Your tasks

The Communication and Outreach Unit helps the DG's management team establish communication priorities in order to highlight the foreign policy-related events and files that the European Parliament should emphasize. The Unit develops communication plans in order to define the messages and target them to the appropriate audiences. Staff work on intranet and internet websites, as well as other communication materials (brochures, newsletters, podcasts, graphic design, video production and editing, online/physical events, social media, speeches, Kahoots, presentations, etc.).

The team works with all units across DG EXPO, and with communication colleagues in other DGs and EU institutions.
