Solution Design and Quality Assurance unit - Functional analysis, design and attribution

The Directorate-General for Information Technologies and Cybersecurity (DG ITEC) delivers digitally advanced, secure, resilient, compliant and sustainable information and communications technology (ICT) services.

The selected trainee will work in the Functional Analysis, Design and Attribution service (FASDA) within the Solution Design and Quality Assurance unit (DESIQUAL).

The service supports the analysis and design of digital solutions by translating business needs into clear, structured and actionable functional requirements. Its activities contribute to the delivery of user-oriented, reusable and sustainable solutions, in line with the European Parliament’s ICT governance framework.

• You will participate in the collection and analysis of business requirements, business process modelling and the preparation of functional specifications. Particular attention will be given to simplification opportunities and to assessing whether needs can be addressed through low-code or no-code solutions;
• You will also experiment with low-code tools and develop prototypes or proofs of concept with business stakeholders and technical teams. These prototypes will help validate requirements and support implementation decisions;
• The traineeship will provide practical experience in business analysis, functional design, process modelling and low-code prototyping.

• You have obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship;
• You have graduated in the field of ICT, Industry, Automation, Civil Engineering or other relevant field where theory of analysis, design and optimisation of business processes was discussed in details;
• Prior knowledge of business analysis, process modelling or low-code and no-code platforms is an advantage. Motivation, analytical thinking, curiosity and good team spirit are paramount and very much welcomed.
