Luxembourg Facilities Management Unit

The Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics (DG INLO) is responsible for overseeing the European Parliament's vast infrastructure portfolio, which spans around 1.3 million square meters of building space across Europe. This includes a variety of tasks that are crucial to ensuring the smooth functioning and sustainability of the Parliament's operations. DG INLO's responsibilities go beyond just building management; it is also in charge of a range of essential services such as catering, mail distribution, furniture management, and transport for Parliament Members and staff. This comprehensive approach ensures that all physical and logistical needs are met, supporting the European Parliament’s political activities in a sustainable way.

The Luxembourg Facilities Management Unit is primarily responsible for the facility management of the buildings occupied by the European Parliament in Luxembourg. Our unit is committed to providing users of our buildings with all the services to ensure a pleasant working environment, in line with the objectives of reducing Parliament’s carbon footprint and at the same time implementing agile management methods.

In the context of the development of its activities, the Facilities Management Unit in Luxembourg of DG INLO is looking to strengthen its team with a graduate in building engineering, more specifically in IT/OT/Smart Building systems.

The trainee will assist the Facility Management Unit team in Luxembourg in the following areas: HVAC, Plumbing, Electricity, BMS and more specifically in:

• Monitoring of the project to migrate the equipment from the Technical IT Network to the DG ITEC IT network;
• Monitoring of the project to implement a hypervisor for all Building Management Systems (BMS) on the Luxembourg site;
• Management and monitoring of the maintenance of technical equipment;
• Organization and management of any documentation related to the area of activity, including electronic documentation.

Desired profile: building engineer

• You have a good knowledge of building technical systems and are able to work independently;
• Experience in the IT/OT/Smart Building field is considered a strong asset;
• A very good knowledge of French is required. Knowledge of English is considered an advantage.

You have obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship.
