Who we are

The Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics (DG INLO) is responsible for overseeing the European Parliament's vast infrastructure portfolio, which spans 1.2 million square meters of building space across Europe. This includes a variety of tasks that are crucial to ensuring the smooth functioning and sustainability of the Parliament's operations. DG INLO's responsibilities go beyond just building management; it is also in charge of a range of essential services such as catering, mail distribution, furniture management, and transport for Parliament Members and staff. This comprehensive approach ensures that all physical and logistical needs are met, supporting the European Parliament’s political activities in a sustainable way.

The Human Resources Unit within DG INLO plays a key role in supporting the Directorate-General in achieving its operational goals. As a trusted HR business partner, the unit provides high-quality HR services and ensures that the right people are in place for the right tasks.

The HR team is responsible for talent sourcing, recruitment, and staff development.

 

Your tasks

As a member of the HR team within the Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics (DG INLO), you will gain practical experience across a wide range of HR processes within a large international organisation.

You will get hands-on experience in key areas such as recruitment, and employee development, contributing to the effective management of the Directorate-General’s human capital. You will also become familiar with the European Parliament’s IT tools and systems used to support HR operations.

By working with different departments and teams, you will gain a better understanding of how HR interacts with other areas of the European Parliament.

 

You are

You have obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about human resource management and eager to contribute to organisational growth and development. Your enthusiasm for HR will drive you to identify opportunities to improve processes and engage effectively with stakeholders.

You should enjoy working in a multicultural environment, be comfortable interacting with diverse teams, and have strong communication skills. A degree in HR management, public administration, economics, business, law, or a related field is highly valued and provides a useful foundation for understanding organisational structures and HR-related matters.

Finally, proficiency in English or French is essential, as these are the main working languages of the Directorate-General. Being comfortable communicating in one or both languages, both orally and in writing, is important for the role.
