Who we are
The Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics (DG INLO) is responsible for overseeing the European Parliament's vast infrastructure portfolio, which spans around 1.3 million square meters of building space across Europe. This includes a variety of tasks that are crucial to ensuring the smooth functioning and sustainability of the Parliament's operations. DG INLO's responsibilities go beyond just building management; it is also in charge of a range of essential services such as catering, mail distribution, furniture management, and transport for Parliament Members and staff. This comprehensive approach ensures that all physical and logistical needs are met, supporting the European Parliament’s political activities in a sustainable way.
Within the Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics, the Office Space Attribution Unit is responsible for managing the allocation of space (offices, storage areas, archives, etc.) across all three European Parliament workplaces, as well as organising moves for the entire European Parliament. 2026 will be a crucial year for preparing for large-scale moves, particularly in the context of preparations for renovating the SPAAK building. This preparation involves analysing the current and future situations, updating plans and databases, and liaising with all relevant services, including the Political Groups.
Your tasks
The trainee will support the logistics service in preparing for these large scale moves by:
- Contributing to the overall planning and organisation of these by analysing plans and data;
- Preparing simulations;
- Follow up with the relevant services.
You are
Space management requires strong logistical skills, a great deal of creativity and adaptability, as well as negotiation skills and a very good command of IT tools such as Excel and PowerPoint. AutoCAD is an advantage.
An architectural background can be very useful, but is not essential, as our work involves managing existing plans rather than creating them. It is essentially about finding spatial and logistical solutions.
You have obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship.
The European Parliament is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace. We welcome all candidates, regardless of their geographical, racial or ethnic origin, political or religious beliefs, age, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, civil status, or family situation.
