Who we are

The Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics (DG INLO) is responsible for overseeing the European Parliament's vast infrastructure portfolio, which spans around 1.3 million square meters of building space across Europe. This includes a variety of tasks that are crucial to ensuring the smooth functioning and sustainability of the Parliament's operations. DG INLO's responsibilities go beyond just building management; it is also in charge of a range of essential services such as catering, mail distribution, furniture management, and transport for Parliament Members and staff. This comprehensive approach ensures that all physical and logistical needs are met, supporting the European Parliament’s political activities in a sustainable way.

In the context of the development of its activities, the Brussels Upkeep Unit of DG INLO is looking for a person with a qualification in Engineering or Architecture to participate in the study and implementation of collective protective measures to improve the safety of workers inside Parliament.

Your tasks

  • Contribute to the study and analysis of risk assessments carried out in Parliament buildings with a view to installing collective protection measures such as safety railings, fixed ladders and safety lifelines;
  • Assist in the planning of metallic construction works, which will involve direct contact with the different stakeholders;
  • Participate in the supervision of the installation of metal elements (handrails, frames, etc.).

You are

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering or Architecture, and a keen interest in health and safety coordination on construction sites. Prior training in health and safety will be considered an asset.

You have obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship.
