Who we are

The Directorate-General for Finance, hereinafter DG FINS, is responsible for Parliament’s budgetary and financial management. Based in both Luxembourg and Brussels, it draws up Parliament's budget, keeps Parliament’s accounts and prepares its financial statements, manages Members' allowances and entitlements, and finances Parliament’s political groups, as well as political parties and foundations at European level. DG FINS consists of three Directorates, 17 Units and the Central Secretariat. DG FINS plays a key and varied role in Parliament’s administration and is a trusted interlocutor for Members and political authorities. Joining DG FINS as a trainee will certainly boost your career. Your tasks

The responsibilities include managing files related to travel and subsistence expenses, as well as using the Amadeus software.

  • Provide, as part of the team, assistance for reimbursement of Members' travel and subsistence expenses, in particular for checks on invoices and payments;
  • Support in the preparation of dossiers related to travel and subsistence expenses and control of their legality, regularity and compliance with the current rules and regulations;
  • Assist in the preparation of documents and tables for ad-hoc analyses and checks.

 

You are

  • We are looking for a dynamic candidate with a taste for finance and with very good analytical skills, eager to learn and ready to challenge and be challenged;
  • Someone who is not only quick at grasping problems but is also creative in coming forward with solutions;
  • Able to organise your workload independently and adapt to changing priorities;
  • Knowledge with Amadeus and travel expenses management would be an asset;
  • Skills in using advanced Excel;
  • Language: English and/or French (knowledge of both would be an asset).

 

You have obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship.
