Who we are

The Directorate-General for Information Technologies and Cybersecurity (DG ITEC) delivers digitally advanced, secure, resilient, compliant and sustainable information and communications technology (ICT) services for the European Parliament.

The Directorate for ICT Infrastructure and Security Operations in DG ITEC is responsible for the telecommunication network and the IT infrastructure of the European Parliament both in the cloud and on-premises. It safeguards cybersecurity, ensuring observability, prevention and detection of cyberattacks. It is responsible for the cybersecurity testing. It ensures reaction and recovery of IT incidents, outages and cyberattacks.

 

Your tasks

The new colleague will integrate in the central team of the Directorate, including the Director, two advisor and one assistant. The trainee will be supervised by one of the advisors, and will work closely with them. 

The successful candidate will participate in meetings with the Director and support in the coordination with the five Heads of Unit. The trainee might be requested to conduct comprehensive studies on the latest technological developments. Furthermore, the trainee will assist the advisors of the Director in managing files submitted to the Director, including those related to IT projects. The colleague will also be expected to perform administrative duties, including the preparation of meeting minutes, and supporting the administrative team in the Directorate. According to the profile, the candidate can also have the opportunity to work on specific IT-related projects within one of the Directorate’s Units, particularly in the fields of cybersecurity.

 

You are

We are looking for a dynamic colleague who is ready to take on the challenge to work closely with senior management. The ideal candidate is well-organized, can manage stressful situations and is willing to work on urgent files. Very good writing skills in French and English are required. An IT background would constitute an important asset. It is key that the new colleague has obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship.
