Who we are
The Directorate-General for Information Technologies and Cybersecurity (DG ITEC) delivers digitally advanced, secure, resilient, compliant and sustainable information and communications technology (ICT) services for the European Parliament.
The Cybersecurity Operations Unit is responsible for protecting Parliament’s digital assets by monitoring, detecting and analyzing cyber threats. The unit also designs and operates specialized cybersecurity solutions for the institution.
Your tasks
You will contribute to the improvement of the cybersecurity monitoring of the institution by:
- Looking for and analyzing cybersecurity attacks;
- Creating security monitoring baselines for operating systems and applications;
- Implementing automation routines for Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response;
- Documenting cybersecurity procedures.
You are
You have:
- Obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship;
- A degree in computer science, cybersecurity or related fields;
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, standards, policies procedures, tools and controls;
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS);
- Prior working experience with Windows or Linux OS;
- Familiarity with log analysis and common attack types is an advantage;
- Ability to work both independently and within a team;
- Strong desire to continuously learn and improve;
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
