Who we are
As the voice of citizens, the European Parliament stands for European democracy. The Directorate-General for Communication (DG COMM) amplifies its message of the Parliament to reach every corner of Europe. We help connect Members of Parliament to the people they represent, and we communicate what the Parliament is, what it does, and what it stands for. When Parliament speaks, we make sure it’s heard.
We are committed communication professionals coming from various professional and academic backgrounds.
The European Parliament Liaison Office (EPLO) in Ireland provides non-partisan information to citizens, media and stakeholders about the work and role of the European Parliament and its Members. We assist MEPs in communicating to national and European audiences and help to promote their institutional activities. We welcome visitor groups to the EPLO to learn about the EU, in particular at our Europa Experience interactive visitor centre. Our activities include discussions on EU policies and issues organised by ourselves, or with partners, as well as cultural events. We build networks with stakeholders and citizens and make a particular effort to reach out to students and young people, including through a number of EU-wide programmes aimed at schools. We host press briefings, respond to media queries, and maintain an active online presence. The EPLO is an integral part of the Parliament's Directorate General for Communication (DG COMM).
