European Parliament Liaison Office in Germany - Post C: Public Relations/Communication

The Directorate for Liaison Offices is DG COMM's front line in the Member States. The Liaison Offices connect to citizens across the European Union, engaging with their concerns, understanding their cultures and speaking their languages, in order to make that vital connection between the European Parliament and the diverse local realities it represents. The European Parliament Liaison Office (EPLO) in Berlin ensures the local implementation of the European Parliament institutional communication activities in Germany. In doing so, it forms the bridge between the institution and German citizens. By using media relations, social media communication, the organization of events, political debates, workshops for schools and roll play games in the Europa Experience exhibition, we attempt to bring the Parliament and citizens closer to each other. We have close contact with the German Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and help them with the communication of their activities towards the audience in Germany.

Important notice for applicants:
Please note that our EPLO has issued three traineeship offers (Post A, Post B and Post C). If you wish to be considered for the position of a trainee in our EPLO, it is enough to apply for only one of the offers available. Your application will be duly examined during the selection stage. Applying for more than one offer would limit your possibility to apply for traineeship offers in other Directorates-General of the Parliament (according to the rules on Schuman traineeships in the European Parliament, you have the possibility to apply for maximum three traineeship offers).

Die "Post C"-Traineestelle des Verbindungsbüros des Europäischen Parlaments in Berlin mit dem Schwerpunkt "Öffentlichkeits- und Kampagnenarbeit" hat folgende Aufgabenbeschreibung: 

• Unterstützung bei der Planung und Durchführung der digitalen Kommunikationsstrategie;
• Unterstützung bei der strategischen Planung und Durchführung von Events und Kampagnen (Bsp. LUX-Preis-Events, Europatagveranstaltungen);
• Unterstützung bei der gemeinsamfür.eu-Kampagne (Organisation von Veranstaltungen und Workshops, Verfassen von regelmäßigen Mailings);
• Unterstützung bei der Durchführung von Veranstaltungen im europapolitischen Rahmen mit Mitgliedern des Europäischen Parlaments, einschließlich Einladungsmanagement (Bsp. Berichterstatter im Dialog, Bürgerdialoge);
• Unterstützung der Jugendprojekte wie das 'European Parliament Ambassador Schools'-Programm;
• Unterstützung bei der Pressearbeit des Europäischen Parlaments;
• Unterstützung bei der Pflege der Website www.europarl.de, Mithilfe bei der Redaktion des Newsletters zu den Plenartagungen des Europäischen Parlaments und den Veranstaltungen des Verbindungsbüros;
• Vorbereitung von Präsentationen, Notizen, Berichten und Briefings;
• Planen und Erstellen von Content für die deutschsprachigen Social-Media-Kanäle des Europäischen Parlaments auf Facebook, Instagram und LinkedIn;
• Erstellen von Inhalten und grafischen Designs/Visuals mit Canva;
• Filmen und Editieren von kurzen Videos (Reels), filmische Begleitung von Veranstaltungen.

Welches Profil wir suchen: 

• Ein überzeugendes Motivationsschreiben in deutscher Sprache und einen aussagekräftigen Lebenslauf;
• Ausgezeichnetes Beherrschen der deutschen Sprache (C2), sehr gute Englischkenntnisse;
• Ehrenamtliche oder berufliche Erfahrung im Bereich Öffentlichkeitsarbeit und digitale Kommunikation, insbesondere Kampagnenarbeit und Social Media;
• Sehr gute mündliche und schriftliche Ausdrucksfähigkeit;
• Politisches Verständnis, insbesondere von der Funktionsweise der Europäischen Union und des Europäischen Parlaments;
• Sehr gute Kenntnis in der Nutzung der sozialen Medien;
• Erfahrung im Umgang mit Canva und Editieren von kurzen Videos;
• Grundkenntnisse im Videodreh und Videoschnitt mit Adobe Premiere und Canva erwünscht;
• Teamfähigkeit, Zuverlässigkeit, Kreativität;
• Sehr gutes Organisationstalent;
• Hohe Motivation die Informations- und Kommunikationsaktivitäten und Bildungsangebote des deutschen Verbindungsbüros des Europäischen Parlaments mitzugestalten.
