The Directorate-General for Information Technologies and Cybersecurity (DG ITEC) delivers digitally advanced, secure, resilient, compliant and sustainable information and communications technology (ICT) services for the European Parliament.
The Publishing Support and Visual Projects Unit (PUBLIPRO) has a mission to support Members, Political Groups and the Secretariat General in the area of design, visuals and print. The PUBLIPRO Unit is looking to fill an internship within our design team.
Your tasks
Assisting our graphic designers, the successful candidate will be given the opportunity to:
1. Graphic design
- Design and develop print and digital materials (ranging from posters and booklets to illustrations and animations);
- Produce documents in different language versions;
- Create basic motion design products;
- Edit photos (colour adjustments, deleting or adding objects to harmonise the visual message) for graphic design purposes;
- Search images in our databases;
- Manage and liaise with clients to clarify briefs, follow up on projects, provide advice and educate clients about graphic rules;
- Get familiar with EP brand guidelines and apply them in various graphic projects;
- Organise their workflow in accordance with the team’s cloud-based software;
- Gain experience working in a team of graphic design experts.
2. Accessibility
- Create fully accessible posters and brochures;
- Work in InDesign and Adobe Acrobat to ensure accessibility compliance;
- Gain experience while collaborating with accessibility experts.
You are
The successful candidate should have:
- Obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship;
- Advanced knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (at least InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop; After Effects would be considered a plus);
- Good knowledge of English and/or French;
- Good communication skills;
- Interest in new technology and the desire to constantly learn and improve;
- Knowledge of accessibility and front-end development (HTML, CSS) would be considered a plus.
