As the voice of citizens, the European Parliament stands for European democracy. The Directorate-General for Communication (DG COMM) amplifies its message of the Parliament to reach every corner of Europe. We help connect Members of Parliament to the people they represent, and we communicate what the Parliament is, what it does, and what it stands for. When Parliament speaks, we make sure it’s heard.

We are committed communication professionals coming from various professional and academic backgrounds.

 

Your tasks

As part of your tasks, you will be doing:

  • Daily office assistance;
  • Treatment of information requests from citizens via e-mail, phone and in person;
  • Preparation of and participating at various information events: fairs, exhibitions, seminars;
  • Various tasks related to the running of the European Experience visitors' centre in Tallinn;
  • Preparation of various print and electronic materials;
  • Individual project management (Sakharov prize, Charlemagne Youth Prize, Lux Prize, Euroscola, various youth events etc);
  • Translating, editing and proofreading various information and communication materials: Estonian-English-Estonian;
  • Daily administration, editing and monitoring of European Parliament Liaison Office's (EPLO's) web page and social media pages;
  • Compilation of data from various sources;
  • Organisation of youth-oriented activities;
  • Editorial duties connected to preparing Estonian version of the European Parliament's plenary newsletter, regular session press-releases.

 

You are

You must:

  • Have obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship;
  • Have good knowledge of the European Union in general and of the European Parliament;
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Have very good knowledge of English and Estonian, both oral and written;
  • Proficient with computers, standard office software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social media content creation tools (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Canva);
  • Display willingness to learn;
  • Have very good interpersonal skills.
