Who we are

As the voice of citizens, the European Parliament stands for European democracy. The Directorate-General for Communication (DG COMM) amplifies its message of the Parliament to reach every corner of Europe. We help connect Members of Parliament (MEPs) to the people they represent, and we communicate what the Parliament is, what it does, and what it stands for. When Parliament speaks, we make sure it’s heard.

We are committed communication professionals coming from various professional and academic backgrounds.

 

Your tasks

  • Assisting with social media content creation and posting (texts and visuals), as well as helping with other aspects of social media communication management;
  • Creating content, visuals, and video materials for social media and web;
  • Assisting with stakeholder, press, and PR events organized by the Liaison Office;
  • Media monitoring in selected media outlets (recurring activity);
  • Drafting press releases and announcements;
  • Contributing to the preparation and consolidation of press event programmes;
  • Drafting background materials for specific reports (e.g. post-event reports, annual activities report, social media reports, etc.);
  • Preparing analyses, background materials, and presentations for various projects;
  • Conducting stakeholder mapping;
  • Management and update of contact database;
  • Translating from Slovenian to English and from English to Slovenian;
  • Drafting minutes of the meetings.

 

You are

  • You are interested in communication and in the activities of the European Parliament and the European Union;
  • You are a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment, able to handle rapid task distribution, think clearly, prioritize effectively, and quickly grasp key messages;
  • You are interested in, and ideally have prior experience with, social media and web content creation, as well as event organization (considered an asset);
  • You are organized, proactive, and flexible, with a willingness to take on a variety of tasks;
  • You are fluent in Slovenian and have a very good command of English; knowledge of any other official EU language is considered an asset.

You have obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship.
