Who we are

As the voice of citizens, the European Parliament stands for European democracy. The Directorate-General for Communication (DG COMM) amplifies its message of the Parliament to reach every corner of Europe. We help connect Members of Parliament (MEPs) to the people they represent, and we communicate what the Parliament is, what it does, and what it stands for. When Parliament speaks, we make sure it’s heard.

We are committed communication professionals coming from various professional and academic backgrounds.

The European Parliament's Office in Spain provides information on the role and powers of the European Parliament, on Spanish Members of the European Parliament and their activities, and on the issues currently being considered by the Parliament that are important for Spain and Europe as a whole.

 

Your tasks

The main work of the European Parliament Liaison Office is related to three big areas: communication and social media, events and political insight. We are therefore looking for a trainee who would be able to cover, in particular, the fields of event organization and political insight. The main tasks of this particular post would consist of:

  • Contributing to the organisation of communication events, seminars or conferences;
  • Drafting of briefings, speeches and background notes for the Head of Office and her Deputy;
  • Elaborating power point presentations on particular subjects of EP relevance.

 

You are

Un profesional titulado en Comunicación o áreas relacionadas, con especialización o interés en asuntos europeos y Relaciones Internacionales, con una fuerte motivación y compromiso con la Unión Europea y sus objetivos. Se valoran buenas dotes comunicativas y de redacción de informes, así como capacidad de pensamiento crítico, actitud dinámica y flexible y sentido del trabajo en equipo.

Se considerará un activo contar con experiencia profesional previa, especialmente en ámbitos como la comunicación, la consultoría o el trabajo en instituciones públicas. Asimismo, se valorará positivamente el conocimiento de nuevas tecnologías relacionadas con la gestión de bases de datos, software de gestión de mailings y eventos (CRM, CMS), edición, redes sociales, etc.

Ha obtenido o va a obtener un título universitario (nivel 6 del MEC o superior) al menos tres meses antes de la fecha de inicio de las prácticas.
