Who we are
The Directorate-General for Logistics and Interpretation for Conferences (DG LINC) provides the linguistic, technical and logistical support for the organization of the parliamentary meetings and conferences of EP Members and bodies. By supplying state-of-the-art conference facilities, including high-quality interpretation services and conference organization we contribute to facilitating the legislative process as well as helping to underpin the democratic legitimacy of the Institution.
This makes DG LINC a very dynamic and collaborative place to work, offering various opportunities for connecting internally and with all those taking part in the legislative process. If you like challenges and are customer-minded then DG LINC could be a great place for you to do a traineeship.
The Unit for the Recruitment of Auxiliary Conference Interpreters (ACI Recruitment Unit) is responsible for recruiting freelance interpreters (ACIs - conference interpreting agents) whose services are required to complement the in-house teams and meet the interpretation needs of the European Parliament. Our tasks include forecasting and calculating the needs for ACIs in the long and medium terms, distributing and managing their contracts, maintaining appropriate databases, monitoring trends on the ACI market and proposing measures to retain resources and control spending. ACIs are recruited based on the recruitment criteria established by DG LINC and can be assigned to all types of EP meetings, including missions outside the three places of work. We are a team of nine people, we work closely together, but we also cooperate with other units involved in DG LINC operations.
