Who we are

As the voice of citizens, the European Parliament stands for European democracy. The Directorate-General for Communication (DG COMM) amplifies its message of the Parliament to reach every corner of Europe. We help connect Members of Parliament (MEPs) to the people they represent, and we communicate what the Parliament is, what it does, and what it stands for. When Parliament speaks, we make sure it’s heard.

We are committed communication professionals coming from various professional and academic backgrounds.

Visiting the European Parliament is a unique opportunity for citizens to learn how European democracy works, how decisions taken by the EP are relevant to their daily life and how they can have a say in such decisions. It is also an opportunity for the EP to engage in a direct way with EU citizens. Different activities, such as events, art exhibitions and role-play games cater to the various interests of our visitors, whether families, young people, seniors or school groups. The activities for visitors are managed by the Directorate for Visitors.

In addition to running the Info Hub facility - which displays topical content and hosts a wide range of public, and stakeholder events (conferences, debates, book launches, film screenings, exhibitions and information sessions) - the Info Hub and Visitors’ Support Unit is responsible for visitor support within the Directorate for Visitors including promoting the visitor offer, managing the visitor website and the booking tool to keeping in touch after the visit and improving the visitor experience. Innovation is at the heart of our work, as the Unit is also responsible for developing new outreach concepts and event ideas. The unit is also responsible for the management and accessibility of the European Parliament Contemporary Art Collection.
