Who we are
The Directorate-General for Logistics and Interpretation for Conferences (DG LINC) provides the linguistic, technical and logistical support for the organization of the parliamentary meetings and conferences of EP Members and bodies. By supplying state-of-the-art conference facilities, including high-quality interpretation services and conference organization we contribute to facilitating the legislative process as well as helping to underpin the democratic legitimacy of the Institution.

The Multilingual Solutions Unit (MSU) is in charge of organizing interpretation and technical support for missions and other events outside of EP premises.
MSU provides solutions for:
- Complementary interpretation service provision and other non-standard requests, where required for specific meetings (L-EXIN);
- The interpretation and/or technical service provision for external missions (Committees' missions, delegations, Political Groups' missions...);
- Interpretation for the EP President and Ad Personam interpretation requests as well as sign language interpretation.
The Unit also acts as a liaison point between clients and service providers and different services in DG LINC for the above activities.
Your tasks
Your main tasks will consist of:
- Assisting the Unit staff in its various tasks;
- Preparing and saving documents/emails, saving backups, updating database;
- Preparing weekly overview of missions & LEXIN meetings;
- Assisting with the quality monitoring project;
- Drafting minutes of meetings;
- Contributing to document management related tasks.
The traineeship should give you the opportunity to build on the knowledge acquired during your studies and to familiarise yourself with the activities of the European Parliament. Hence, careful attention will be brought to adapt your tasks to your background as far as possible, as well as provide you with opportunities to develop an understanding of the Institution.
You are
- You are enthusiastic about the European Project;
- You have obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship;
- You have an interest, experience and/or academic background in the field of interpretation;
- You are motivated to work in multicultural environment;
- You are flexible and able to deal with different tasks, well-organised;
- You have a team spirit and are willing to work within a small, friendly and motivated team;
- Fluency in English and/or in French (oral and written) is needed.
