Who we are

As the voice of citizens, the European Parliament stands for European democracy. The Directorate-General for Communication (DG COMM) amplifies its message of the Parliament to reach every corner of Europe. We help connect Members of Parliament (MEPs) to the people they represent, and we communicate what the Parliament is, what it does, and what it stands for. When Parliament speaks, we make sure it’s heard.

We are committed communication professionals coming from various professional and academic backgrounds.

The Social Media and Digital Multipliers Unit (SMDM) is responsible for shaping the European Parliament's digital voice. We manage its central social media presence, produce engaging content, and track online conversations, while teaming up with digital multipliers to amplify our reach. Behind the scenes, our social media producers, designers, content managers, data analysts, and project managers work together to gather insights, spot trends, and collaborate with creators - ensuring the Parliament's message doesn't just reach audiences, but resonates with them.
