Who we are

The Directorate-General for Logistics and Interpretation for Conferences (DG LINC) provides the linguistic, technical and logistical support for the organization of the parliamentary meetings and conferences of EP Members and bodies. By supplying state-of-the-art conference facilities, including high-quality interpretation services and conference organization we contribute to facilitating the legislative process as well as helping to underpin the democratic legitimacy of the Institution.  

This makes DG LINC a very dynamic and collaborative place to work, offering various opportunities for connecting internally and with all those taking part in the legislative process.  If you like challenges and are customer-minded then DG LINC could be a great place for you to do a traineeship. 

The Request Management Unit is in charge, inter alia, of the administrative management for meetings organised by the EP bodies (parliamentary committees, political groups and others) and by the authorised, external organisations. The activities include managing demand for meetings and for interpretation, assisting the Secretary General, the Quaestor and the Vice-President in charge, in authorisation of all kinds of events, as well as maintaining close relations with the local authorities for events in public spaces.

 

Your tasks

  • You will join the team in charge of following up on requests for events within and outside the EP premises;
  • You will be using various EP booking interfaces: MRS and MRS-Exhibitions on line calendar for which training will be provided;
  • You will be taking part in our coordination meetings and you will be able to follow-up on events from beginning to end;
  • Occasionally you will be able to give a hand on the spot and ensure the smooth running of such events;
  • Besides, you will also take part in research and reporting work for our ongoing projects.

 

You are

  • You feel comfortable with IT tools (especially Excel);
  • You have an eye for detail;
  • You can stay focused when the pace of things speeds up;
  • You can communicate both in English and in French;
  • You have an interest in interpretation or in event management, or experience working in customer support;
  • You have obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship.
