As the voice of citizens, the European Parliament stands for European democracy. The Directorate-General for Communication (DG COMM) amplifies its message of the Parliament to reach every corner of Europe. We help connect Members of Parliament to the people they represent, and we communicate what the Parliament is, what it does, and what it stands for. When Parliament speaks, we make sure it’s heard.

We are committed communication professionals coming from various professional and academic backgrounds.

The Directorate for Outreach is responsible for Parliament’s social media communication, campaign concept and design, civil society, youth and cultural outreach activities as well as the public opinion monitoring and Eurobarometer.  

 

Your tasks

The office of the Director for Outreach is seeking to strengthen its team by hiring a trainee who will be responsible for the following duties: 

  • Supporting in the organisation of management meetings, including sending out invitations, preparing the agenda, and taking minutes;
  • Supporting internal communication initiatives, such as sending out newsletters, drafting copies for social media posts and keeping up to date the documents’ archive;
  • Drafting speaking points and preparing presentations for the Director’s participation in events;
  • Assisting with the planning and implementation monitoring of key projects to ensure timely completion and efficient use of resources;
  • Supporting in analysing strategies and concept notes.

You are

The ideal candidate should demonstrate: 

  • They have obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship;
  • A proactive approach;
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Discretion and respect for confidentiality;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills;
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn;
  • Proficiency in French or German (an asset).
