Who we are

The Directorate-General for Security and Safety (DG SAFE) ensures the safety and security of the persons, buildings and assets within the European Parliament’s premises. In addition, it commits to provide high-quality security services by developing modern working methods, digitalised processes and using state-of-the-art technologies and equipment.

The Crisis Cell Secretariat is part of the Directorate for Technologies and Information in DG SAFE. Its mission is to help other DGs in the Parliament prepare for missions outside the three places of work, with an emphasis on high-risk destinations. It does so by providing concise mission security assessments, briefings, and other awareness activities. It is also a first point of contact in case of crises during such missions, and makes sure that procedures are in place when incidents occur.

 

Your tasks

The trainee assigned to the team will perform a range of activities to support the Crisis Cell Secretariat as follows:

  • Prepare specific Mission Security Assessments and information security awareness products;
  • Participate in the design of awareness-raising campaigns on information security;
  • Provide support to security advice and notifications for events;
  • Provide support to the security verifications of external staff;
  • Support the activities in the area of cooperation with other services and institutions;
  • Monitor security related issues within the area of competence of the Unit;
  • Write and edit reports on a variety of subjects and ensure follow-up. 

 

You are

The Crisis Cell Secretariat is looking for a motivated trainee interested in security, safety, information security policy, and in getting involved in a diversity of security-related tasks and challenges. The person has obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship.

A high level of English is required for the daily work. Any other EU languages, especially French, are considered an asset.

Other required competencies are:

  • Capacity to gather, analyse and process data;
  • Drafting skills;
  • Sense of initiative;
  • Very good computer skills.
