Who we are

The Directorate-General for Security and Safety (DG SAFE) ensures the safety and security of the persons, buildings and assets within the European Parliament’s premises. In addition, it commits to provide high-quality security services by developing modern working methods, digitalised processes and using state-of-the-art technologies and equipment.

DG SAFE's Human Resources Unit’s mission is to provide DG SAFE with motivated and committed staff, complying with the highest professional standards.

In particular, the Human Resources Unit is responsible for the selection, recruitment, management, and career development of more than 900 staff members, as well as the overall specific working arrangements and logistics for DG SAFE staff.

 

Your tasks

Within the Unit, you will join the Planning Team. Your tasks will include:

  • Calculating staff needs to meet operational requirements, which can change depending on political activity, while respecting HR constraints (leave, equal treatment, flexibility, simplicity, and work-life balance);
  • Ensuring the quality and accuracy of the database;
  • Supporting improvements in planning tools and methods;
  • Creating tools to support decision-making, such as statistics and performance indicators;
  • Updating the vademecum (planning rules) and, if needed, aligning procedures between the three sites.

 

You are

You have:

  • Obtained a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship in Business Administration/Management, Data Science, Supply Chain, Public Administration, Human Resources or a related field;
  • Good knowledge of Excel; knowledge of Power BI is a plus;
  • The ability to work in a team, you are proactive and open to working in a dynamic and multicultural environment;

  • Fluent in French and/or English.
