Who we are
The Directorate-General for Parliamentary Democracy Partnerships (DG PART) is tasked with fostering cooperation with national parliaments as well as coordinating the efforts made by Parliament liaison offices and representations outside of the European Union with the objective to streamline actions aimed at promoting and upholding parliamentary democracy in Europe and beyond.
The Directorate for Resources provides active support to all DG PART staff on matters related to budgetary and human resources management. It also plays a key role in developing new partnerships with like-minded countries and international organisations, while supporting and implementing administrative and technological innovation across DG PART.
The Budget Management and Human Resources (HR) Unit, aligned with the mission and values of DG PART, supports the Directorate-General in achieving its objectives through its most valuable asset - its people. The Unit's key responsibilities include:
- Recruiting, selecting, onboarding, and retaining highly qualified staff;
- Providing training and development opportunities to promote individual growth and enhance overall organisational effectiveness;
- Contributing to a safe, healthy, and inclusive working environment;
- Fostering high levels of engagement through recognition, effective communication, and continuous feedback;
- Offering guidance and support in matters related to public procurement and budgetary management;
- Preparing, implementing, and monitoring DG PART's budget in accordance with the principles of sound financial management;
- Developing internal guidelines and rules to streamline working processes across DG PART.
Your tasks
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Data Analyst Trainee with a background in business administration and experience in data analysis to support the Director for Resources and the HR team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the collection and analysis of HR data;
- Supporting the development of HR dashboards and the production of metrics and automating their collection;
- Drafting regular reports and analysing findings to improve HR management and processes;
- Creating a competency map of job descriptions;
- Analysing feedback surveys, to help refine Human Resources initiatives and drive continuous improvement;
- Contribute to ad hoc HR analytics projects;
- Creating and maintaining Excel files;
- Assisting with the logistical coordination of various events, including the organisation of onboarding programmes for newly recruited team members and training sessions.
You are
The successful candidate will hold a university degree in Business Administration (preferably) or a related field. The following skills, competencies, and personal attributes are required:
- Previous experience in Business Administration and HR data analysis (through studies and/or professional experience);
- Comfortable working with numbers and datasets, and producing statistics from different sources and databases;
- Familiarity with HR KPIs;
- Strong interest in data analysis and HR processes;
- Structured thinker who can translate data into insights;
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team;
- Discretion and a strong sense of confidentiality;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present data clearly;
- Strong organisational and coordination skills;
- Attention to detail, with well-developed analytical skills and a customer-oriented mindset;
- Creative and proactive approach to tasks and challenges;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (in particular Excel - pivot tables, formulas, charts) and other relevant digital tools;
- Effective time management and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently;
- Good working knowledge of English and/or French;
- You have obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship.
