Who we are

The Directorate-General for Security and Safety (DG SAFE) ensures the safety and security of the persons, buildings and assets within the European Parliament’s premises. In addition, it commits to provide high-quality security services by developing modern working methods, digitalised processes and using state-of-the-art technologies and equipment.

In the frame of the activities to be carried out, a security clearance at SECRET level will be requested after taking up functions. Applicants must either possess such clearance or be willing to undergo a security screening under the Bureau Decision on the rules applicable to the handling of confidential information by the European Parliament (OJ 2014/C 96/01).

 

Your tasks

Reporting directly to the Legal Advisor to the Director-General, you will join the Director-General's immediate team, which manages issues related to transparency and data protection.

As a trainee, you will be responsible for coordinating requests for access to documents under Regulation 1049/2001, as well as requests for access to personal data under Regulation 2018/1725. You will also be tasked with consolidating activity reports for these sectors.

 

You are

You have:

  • Obtained/will obtain a university degree in law (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship;
  • A strong sense of confidentiality;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • The ability to speak and write fluently in French and English, our internal working languages.
