Who we are
The Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics (DG INLO) is responsible for overseeing the European Parliament's vast infrastructure portfolio, which spans around 1.3 million square meters of building space across Europe. This includes a variety of tasks that are crucial to ensuring the smooth functioning and sustainability of the Parliament's operations.
DG INLO's responsibilities go beyond just building management; it is also in charge of a range of essential services such as catering, mail distribution, furniture management, and transport for Parliament Members and staff. This comprehensive approach ensures that all physical and logistical needs are met, supporting the European Parliament’s political activities in a sustainable way.
The Brussels Upkeep Unit contributes to the Institution's goals by ensuring that Members and staff in Brussels can work in safe, comfortable, and innovative buildings.
We continuously upgrade premises and technical installations, adapting spaces to meet the specific needs of each service.
At the same time, we support the long-term strategy of improving our building heritage through sustainable and forward-looking enhancements.
The team consists of 33 experts delivering high-quality infrastructure renovations with a strong client-oriented approach. Our efficiency relies on close cooperation with all involved services and constant communication with our clients. We play a key role in strategic initiatives such as improving disabled access to buildings, reducing the environmental footprint of our premises, and mitigating sanitary risks like legionella.
Additionally, our Unit oversees the management and updating of the technical archives and building plans.
