Who we are
The Directorate-General for Parliamentary Democracy Partnerships (DG PART) is tasked with fostering cooperation with national parliaments as well as coordinating the efforts made by Parliament liaison offices and representations outside of the European Union with the objective to streamline actions aimed at promoting and upholding parliamentary democracy in Europe and beyond.
The Budget Management and Human Resources (HR) Unit operates administratively within the Directorate for Resources. Aligned with the mission and values of DG PART, the Unit supports the Directorate-General in achieving its objectives through its most valuable asset- its people.
The Unit's key responsibilities include:
- Recruiting, selecting, onboarding, and retaining highly qualified staff;
- Providing training and development opportunities to promote individual growth and enhance overall organisational effectiveness;
- Contributing to a safe, healthy, and inclusive working environment;
- Fostering high levels of engagement through recognition, effective communication, and continuous feedback;
- Offering guidance and support in matters related to public procurement and budgetary management;
- Preparing, implementing, and monitoring DG PART's budget in accordance with the principles of sound financial management.
Your tasks
We are seeking a motivated Human Resources & Budget Trainee with a background in business administration.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to the development of the 2026 Annual Learning Plan;
- Designing DG PART job-specific learning paths to enhance staff development;
- Assisting with the logistical coordination of various events, including the organisation of onboarding programmes for newly recruited team members and training sessions;
- Having interest for budget management and procurement processes, ensuring resources align with DG PART objectives in particular in creating KPIs;
- Analysing data and feedback surveys, to help refine Human Resources initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
You are
The successful candidate will ideally hold a Master's degree in Business Administration. Your background in Business Administration should enable you to excel in both people development and financial resources management.
The following skills, competencies, and personal attributes are required:
- Previous experience in Business Administration (through studies and/or professional experience);
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team;
- Discretion and a strong sense of confidentiality;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong organisational and coordination abilities;
- Attention to detail, with well-developed analytical skills and a customer-oriented mindset;
- A creative and proactive approach to tasks and challenges;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant digital tools;
- Effective time management and the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently;
- Good working knowledge of English and/or French.
