Who we are

The Directorate-General for Information Technologies and Cybersecurity (DG ITEC) is a trusted partner that empowers the European Parliament by delivering digitally advanced, secure, resilient, compliant and sustainable information and communications technology (ICT) services.

This traineeship is a unique opportunity for you to discover the world of public procurement at the heart of the European Parliament. As part of the Procurement and Contract Management Unit, you will work alongside experienced procurement officers and contribute directly to the preparation and management of public contracts that support the Parliament’s daily activities in the domain of IT.

Your tasks

From the very first weeks, you will be involved in the full lifecycle of procurement procedures. You will help reflect on which procedure best fits a particular need, assist in preparing tender documents for publication, and take part in the evaluation process of submitted offers. This will give you the chance to carry out administrative checks of offers, follow the work of the evaluation committee during the quality assessment of proposals, and contribute to drafting evaluation reports and award-related documents such as award decisions and notification letters to tenderers. You will also support the preparation of contractual amendments to ongoing framework contracts, gaining valuable insight into both the tendering and contract management phases.

By the end of the traineeship, you will have a hands-on understanding of EU procurement rules and procedures and will have developed practical skills in legal drafting, analytical thinking, and teamwork in a multicultural environment at the heart of Europe.
