Who we are

The Directorate-General for Logistics and Interpretation for Conferences (DG LINC) is the multilingual conference service hub of the European Parliament. Our mission is to enable the European Parliament to achieve its political objectives, in particular in core activities related to legislative, budgetary and scrutiny functions. DG LINC provides a professional and user-oriented organisational framework to meetings and conferences including linguistic, technical and logistical support to meetings. DG LINC helps Members of Parliament get their message across in all official languages, making the legislative process accessible to citizens. It enables Parliament to further reach out to citizens with the capacity to organise conferences and cultural events outside part-sessions in Parliament’s seat in Strasbourg.

This makes DG LINC a very dynamic and collaborative place to work, offering various opportunities for connecting internally and with all those taking part in the legislative process.  If you like challenges and are customer-minded, then DG LINC could be a great place for you to do a traineeship.

The Human Resources Unit is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Directorates, units and services of the DG related to central human resource management, namely staff matters, career guidance, training, trainees, administrative follow-up of missions, document management and infrastructure management. It is a friendly team operating in a multicultural environment.

Your main tasks will consist of:

  • Organising and facilitating the Newcomers’ Days (the internal onboarding programme for all newcomers);
  • Support and contribute to different HR-related (and Training-related) projects, which includes the following tasks: attending meetings, drafting minutes, conducting surveys, analysing data, consolidating results, generating information graphics, building/maintaining databases, preparing presentations, among others;
  • Contributing to certain logistical tasks and, in general, supporting the DG in its mission of servicing meetings and conferences.

The traineeship should give you the opportunity to build on the knowledge acquired during your studies and to familiarise yourself with the activities of the European Parliament. Hence, careful attention will be brought to adapting your tasks to your background as far as possible, as well as providing you with opportunities to develop an understanding of the Institution.
