Who we are

The European Parliament's Directorate-General for Parliamentary Research Services (DG EPRS) provides comprehensive research and analytical support to the Members of the European Parliament, its parliamentary committees and the European Parliament as a whole. The EPRS philosophy is to provide independent, objective and authoritative information.

Why choose a traineeship at DG EPRS?    

'Empowering through knowledge' is the guiding principle of EPRS. As an EPRS trainee, you will be exposed to the core of the research and analysis process in the European Parliament. Surrounded by colleagues working on publications covering a wide range of EU policies, you will gain detailed knowledge of the EP's workings while honing your skills in your specific topic of interest. If you choose a traineeship in one of EPRS's library units, you will help the parliamentary community find the resources they need for their work.    

The Directorate for Committee Coordination and Legislative Activities (CCLA) provides coordination and expertise on all horizontal issues related to the activities of the committees in the European Parliament. The Directorate also addresses and promotes the common needs of committees in their legislative, scrutiny and budgetary activities, and highlights the work of the committees through various communication channels. The secretariat of the Conference of Committee Chairs is also provided by the Directorate.

The Human Resources Unit reports to the Deputy Secretary General and delivers a wide range of services to DG EPRS as well as to the Directorate for Legislative Coordination (CCLA). 

 

Your tasks

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist in the general work and daily activities of the unit related to Human Resources, Logistics and Finance matters;
  • Carry out specific research in order to advise the Deputy Secretary General, DG EPRS and CCLA management on HR and administrative practices and to foster diversity;
  • Work on a number of projects to enhance and modernise the existing HR processes;
  • Cooperate with a variety of colleagues in both DG EPRS as CCLA in a fast-paced political environment;
  • Gain experience in EU matters and become part of a genuine multinational team.

 

You are

We are looking for a colleague with the following profile:

  • Preferably with a Master, ideamlly in Human Resources, Management, Labour Psychology, Applied Economics and/or with a first experience in Human Resources matters;
  • Enthusiastic, dynamic and outgoing team player and, given the nature of the files that we treat, discreet with an ability to act in a confidential and sensitive manner;
  • Good analytical and organisational skills, ability to identify quickly key information, confident about gathering and analysing data;
  • Ability to integrate quickly in a multicultural and multilingual environment;
  • Very good oral and writing skills in English are requested, oral and writing skills in French would be an added value as well as knowledge of other EU languages.
