Who we are

The Directorate-General for Security and Safety (DG SAFE) ensures the safety and security of the persons, buildings and assets within the European Parliament’s premises. In addition, it commits to provide high-quality security services by developing modern working methods, digitalised processes and using state-of-the-art technologies and equipment.

DG SAFE's Security Strasbourg Unit ensures all tasks relating to the security and protection of persons and assets in Strasbourg as well as controlling access to the European Parliament's premises and installations therein (persons, vehicles, supplies and mail) guaranteeing that official visits, meetings and events of all kinds run smoothly. In addition, the Unit implements decisions taken by the European Parliament's authorities on security and safety.

 

Your tasks

  • Under the supervision of the Head of Unit, you will be in charge of the various operational missions within the Strasbourg Security Unit ;
  • You will assist the colleagues of the operational secretariat in ensuring the smooth daily operations of the security work entity, by filtering and relaying upward and downward information;
  • Moreover, you will assist the operational secretariat in the elaboration of instructions and guidelines that will allow a follow-up of the respect of these among all the security staff;
  • You will follow the activities of the structure in order to facilitate relations within and outside the unit;
  • You will be involved in the preparation of various events, particularly on the operational level of political and/or cultural events that will take place in the institution.

 

You are

We are looking for a dynamic and friendly person, with a good team spirit.

  • A good knowledge of security is essential;
  • In addition, administrative skills are necessary to accomplish daily missions;
  • Rigor and organisation are essential as well as taking initiative and working independently;
  • The candidate must have computer skills.

During this internship, the candidate will have the opportunity to develop their safety training and knowledge in their field of activity.

We work in a multilingual environment. A good command of French is required and knowledge of a second language is appreciated.
