Who we are
The Directorate-General for Security and Safety (DG SAFE) ensures the safety and security of the persons, buildings and assets within the European Parliament’s premises. In addition, it commits to provide high-quality security services by developing modern working methods, digitalised processes and using state-of-the-art technologies and equipment.
DG SAFE's Budget Unit is responsible for managing the overall budget of the Directorate-General, including through an efficient and effective annual planning. In this regard and in accordance with the financial regulations, the unit provides support and advice in public procurement and budget management to the authorising officer by delegation and the operational units.
Your tasks
You will carry out tasks defined by the supervisor and assist the team members in their work, especially:
- Prepare and evaluate a survey related to internal control;
- Improve and simplify the workflows within the Budget Unit;
- Support in drafting various documents such as guidelines or checklists for the unit;
- Update and improve relevant Excel tables necessary for the monitoring of budgetary expenses;
- Help with the archiving of financial and procurement files in conformity with the data protection rules;
- Attend meetings, including meetings of Parliamentary committees, and take minutes,
- Participate as observer in ongoing tender procedures;
- Answer inquiries.
You are
The Budget Unit is looking for a motivated person, interested in budgetary and financial matters, European politics and the work of the European Parliament:
- With a university degree in business, finance, accounting, management and administration or closely related disciplines;
- Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office and its applications, in particular MS Excel;
- Good with numbers, able to pay attention to detail and make mathematical calculations;
- Highly competent in researching information and writing reports;
- Willing to work in a multicultural environment.
