Who we are

The Directorate-General for Security and Safety (DG SAFE) ensures the safety and security of the persons, buildings and assets within the European Parliament’s premises. In addition, it commits to provide high-quality security services by developing modern working methods, digitalised processes and using state-of-the-art technologies and equipment.

DG SAFE's Risk Assessment and Investigation Unit monitors the overall security environment and provides advice and analysis to Parliament's political and administrative authorities. In particular, it is responsible for the ongoing assessment of risks related to the safety of the institution’s persons and assets. It produces security risk analysis, develops and maintains plans and procedures to ensure service continuity in the event of an incident. Furthermore, the Unit provides a specialised service on security and safety investigations and prepares security assessments of official missions.

 

Your tasks

Operational Tasks:

  • Tasks within the framework of Risk Assessment - help with the elaboration of risk analyses and their statistics;
  • Produce occasional or thematic analyses relating to events and threats specific to the European Parliament;
  • Assist in the development and preparation of various events;
  • Provide support to TALOS (security notifications);
  • Monitor activities related to cooperation with other services and institutions.

Administrative tasks: 

  • Help to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the working entity in administrative and material terms, by filtering and relaying upward and downward information;
  • Participate to elaboration and implementation of the guidelines on archiving;
  • Attend project meetings, participate in demo presentations, take minutes;
  • Support the unit’s activities, daily work assistance and follow-up;
  • Assist in the development of computer software solutions to support the above-mentioned activities.

 

You are

We are looking for a dynamic person who is interested in risk analysis, security threats, investigations, risk prevention and mitigation measures and who is involved in a variety of tasks and challenges related to Security. 

A high level of French and English is required for daily work. Any other European Union language is an advantage.

Other skills required are:

  • Ability to collect, analyse and process data;
  • Writing skills;
  • Knowledge of open source research principles and processes (OSINT);
  • Computer programming (SQL, Java, Python) and database management skills;
  • Sense of initiative;
  • Very good knowledge of computer tools.
