European Parliament Liaison Office in the Czech Republic - Post A: Communication section

We work to provide complete and impartial information to citizens and media about the European Parliament and assist our Members in their communication activities. 

The Directorate-General for Communication (DG COMM) strives to reach and engage the right audience with the right message at the right time and in doing so, deliver world-class communication. We are committed communication professionals coming from various professional and academic backgrounds.

The Directorate for Liaison Offices is DG COMM's front line in the Member States. The Offices connect to citizens across the European Union, engaging with their concerns, understanding their cultures and speaking their languages, in order to make that vital connection between the European Parliament and the diverse local realities it represents. Offices are playing a crucial role in spreading the knowledge of what the European Parliament is working on and has achieved as well as engaging with citizens and various stakeholders.

Daily work in communication section under the supervision of the EPLO Prague public relations officer and community manager will encompass mainly:

• Work on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube) and Office website;
• Assistance in preparing and implementing communication projects addressing various target groups, sectors and regions;
• Assistance in communication projects linked to schools, cinemas, volunteers, etc.;
• Assistance in events organisation;
• Collection of data, drafting summaries, being in touch with different Office partners;
• Translations, proof-reading, adaptations of localized content;
• Creation of simple visuals using e.g. Canva;
• Reaction to citizens’ enquiries.

• You have very good knowledge of Czech and English. French is welcome;
• You are proficient with computers and standard Microsoft Office software package and basic graphical tools (e.g. Canva);
• You display good communication skills both written and verbal, including social media writing;
• You are aware of the Czech political and media landscape;
• You possess knowledge of the EU decision-making and the EP in particular would be an asset.
