Who we are

The European Parliament stands for European democracy. We help connect it to people.

We work to provide complete and impartial information to citizens and media about the European Parliament and assist our Members in their communication activities.

The Directorate-General for Communication (DG COMM) strives to reach and engage the right audience with the right message at the right time and in doing so, deliver world-class communication. We are committed communication professionals coming from various professional and academic backgrounds.

The Civil Society Outreach Unit collaborates with the whole spectrum of pan-EU civil society organisations, partners of EP Prizes, stakeholders and engaged individuals. We are building close relationships to create networks of multipliers and to encourage them to disseminate Parliament’s work and messages to their own audiences and to actively engage with the European Parliament.

Your tasks

As a trainee working for the LUX Audience Award project, you will be participating in the organisation of events (such as screenings and debates of LUX nominated films and the ceremony) and will be assisting with the overall coordination. You will be in charge of copywriting of draft publications for the website, invitations to our events, etc.

A particular attention shall be given to building and expanding the multipliers network with partner organisations within the audiovisual sector. You will also be asked to contribute to reporting on the outreach of events and campaigns by collecting and analysing relevant data and make recommendations accordingly.

Last but not least, you will have the opportunity to discover the hectic world of screening rights negotiations by being involved in processing screening requests from EP's liaison offices.

You are

We are looking for a person with interest and affection for communications, especially in advocacy for the culture sector, as well as interest in European politics in general. A passion for European Cinema is definitely an asset for working on the project.

Are you a team player that is motivated, creative and willing to take initiative and adapt quickly to a variety of tasks during the traineeship? Are you eager to connect to our cinema partners and built strong links based on our common goals in striving for cultural diversity? Do you have great copywriting and organisatorial skills? Then you might be the excellent candidate!

Experience in collecting and analysing data and using collaborative and project management tools would be considered an advantage.

The European Parliament is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace. We welcome all candidates, regardless of their geographical, racial or ethnic origin, political or religious beliefs, age, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, civil status, or family situation.
