Who we are

The Directorate-General for Security and Safety (DG SAFE) ensures the safety and security of the persons, buildings and assets within the European Parliament’s premises. In addition, it commits to provide high-quality security services by developing modern working methods, digitalised processes and using state-of-the-art technologies and equipment.

The Access and Visitors Unit of DG SAFE is responsible for issuing access passes to Members, Assistants, staff and visitors to Parliament. The Unit manages general and specific access rights to the Institution's premises, working in close cooperation with other units and directorates of DG SAFE, as well as with other EU institutions and bodies whose access credentials are recognised by Parliament. By ensuring the implementation of the Access Rules and their implementing measures, the Unit aims at providing an efficient service to people entering Parliament's buildings at its multiple reception points.

 

Your tasks

  • Provide assistance in the planning, management, design and coordination of technical and administrative project files;
  • Participation in the unit's steering committees and drafting of supporting documents;
  • Administrative support in drafting and reviewing the presentation of the Unit and its activities on EPnet, SAFEnet, and/or ad hoc projects (brochures, newsletters, etc);
  • Assistance with drafting of notes and reports;
  • Contribute to the creation of statistical reports on the unit's activities;
  • Organise client satisfaction surveys, analysis and interpretation of results;
  • Administrative support in processing accreditation requests, and managing the Unit's functional mailboxes;
  • Assistance during events in the European Parliament's premises (e.g. badge distribution and accompanying of participants);
  • Assistance in revising the Unit's standard forms and databases in different formats (Word, Excel, Pdf);
  • Updating of access authorisation databases and contact lists of counterpart services in other EU institutions and bodies;
  • Follow-up of other parliamentary activities and deepen knowledge on the working of the European Parliament and the EU institutions.

 

You are

  • We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate willing to get involved in a plethora of tasks and having a pragmatic approach to solve problems quickly and efficiently ;
  • A proficient level of French and/or English, the main working languages of the Directorate, is required. The knowledge of an additional official language is a plus ;
  • The candidate should have excellent drafting and computer skills (Microsoft Office).
