If you would like to gain experience in the field of human resources within a large multicultural organisation such as the European Parliament, apply for one of the traineeships in DG PERS!
The Directorate-General for Personnel (DG PERS) is broadly responsible for managing the human resources of the European Parliament's Secretariat, so that it can provide the Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) with the assistance they need to fulfil their mandate.
More specifically, DG PERS manages the different groups of staff throughout their career, in areas such as:
- Selection, recruitment, entry, training, career development;
- Management of rights and obligations, salary, allowances, pension rights;
- Protection and well-being at work;
- Strategies to improve and promote equality, diversity and inclusion;
- Management of trainees;
- Internal communication in the institution.
The Strategic HR Planning Unit is the main unit in the Parliament dealing with the alignment of EP Human Resources with the strategic objectives of our Institution. The unit plays the role of adviser and center of HR expertise for the benefit of the Directorates-General (DGs) and staff members alike, supporting the Secretariat’s evolution to more dynamic, flexible and forward-looking ways of managing people and resources.
We are a team of 12 people (10 colleagues are located in Brussels and 2 are located in Luxembourg). We work with all the DGs of the Parliament, so you will gain a good overview of the working of the European Parliament.
Your tasks
You will:
- Assist team members in organising workshops for HR colleagues and Heads of Unit;
- Analyse different types of HR documents and draft summaries or reports;
- Work on the continuous development of internal (IT) tools (collecting, creating and updating content);
- Research and analyse all kinds of HR data related to HR studies, key HR indicators, the annual HR report, the internal mobility exercise, projects;
- Support colleagues in the unit on different projects.
You are
If you have:
- Excellent knowledge of Excel and data analysis;
- Critical analysis and good communication skills;
- Accuracy, creativity, flexibility;
- A great sense of customer service;
- A passion for HR;
- Social skills, willing to integrate in a nice team;
- Technological savviness;
- A good knowledge of English and French (preferable, given the unit’s multiple interlocutors).
