If you would like to gain experience in the field of human resources within a large multicultural organisation such as the European Parliament, apply for one of the traineeships in DG PERS!

The Directorate-General for Personnel (DG PERS) is broadly responsible for managing the human resources of the European Parliament's Secretariat, so that it can provide the Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) with the assistance they need to fulfil their mandate.

More specifically, DG PERS manages the different groups of staff throughout their career, in areas such as:

  • Selection, recruitment, entry, training, career development;
  • Management of rights and obligations, salary, allowances, pension rights;
  • Protection and well-being at work;
  • Strategies to improve and promote equality, diversity and inclusion;
  • Management of trainees;
  • Internal communication in the institution.

This post is situated in the Learning and Development Unit.

Our mission is to offer learning and development (L&D) solutions to a highly qualified workforce that support MEPs. We believe that L&D plays a key role in the European Parliament to ensure a resilient and effective European democracy.

This traineeship will offer you the opportunity to explore the L&D activities in the EP.

You will be part of a team of professionals offering learning solutions to people working in the European Parliament. You will be helping our clients - MEPs, departments, individual learners - strengthen their skills, manage change and increase motivation within their teams.

The General Training Team is responsible for managing the learning offer on general skills, team events, walks, induction programme etc. to all staff of the European Parliament. We are service-oriented and we try to assist our colleagues as much as we can. We are always open for better solutions and innovation. We work a lot and we have fun doing it.

 

Your tasks

During your traineeship, you will:

  • Contribute to the planning and the administrative organisation of all type of courses for the personnel of the Parliament;
  • Work with EP's learning management system and with other supporting learning platforms in force in the EP, such as LinkedIn Learning and Howspace;
  • Have an opportunity to co-design training seminars and courses, participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Have an opportunity to work on competency framework design for all job profiles in the EP together with the internal team and industry experts;
  • Help design, curate and implement workshops for Learning professionals around competency-based course design and curation;
  • Participate in ideation, design and implementation of learning analytics dashboards for various departments;
  • Participate in work of DG-level Lifelong learning taskforces.

 

You are

  • Interested in learning and development and willing to interact and moderate groups/communities;
  • A positive thinker who likes to give good service to clients, even if they are in a hurry;
  • Someone who multitasks and is flexible;
  • Someone digitally savvy;
  • Multilingual, speak and write English + other EU official language(s);
  • Proficient with MS office (Word, PowerPoint; strong Excel  - Power Queries & Pivots would be a plus);
  • Someone with data visualisation skills - working knowledge of Power BI platform would be a plus.
