Who we are

The Directorate-General for Innovation and Technological Support (DG ITEC) provides the European Parliament with information and communication technology services as well as document production, printing and distribution services. 

The Business Platforms and Artificial Intelligence Unit plays a key role in fostering innovation within the European Parliament’s administration. Its mission includes monitoring the AI activities inside the administration of European Parliament, promote projects re-use to minimize overlaps, foster the impact of analytics results and acting as enablers of the data driven culture by promoting high quality standards. 

In this context, various smart applications in different areas of the administration will be mapped or even developed. Additionally, the Unit will monitor closely every technological development in the field of AI. 

 

Your tasks

  • To deliver concrete functioning Proof of Concepts based on Artificial Intelligence;
  • To be able to understand end-to-end data science pipelines including components of data acquisition, data exploration, data-driven models;
  • To be able to present results in innovative ways, using data dashboards or other technologies;
  • To be able to analyse complex problems and suggest potential technological solutions based on open-source technologies;
  • To scout commercial solutions in order to generate reports about new technological trends.

 

You are

  • A knowledgeable programmer in Python;
  • Knowledgeable in machine learning and deep learning, with a particular interest in NLP;
  • Capable of using tools in a cloud environment (AWS or Microsoft Azure);
  • Curious, creative and independent person;
  • Eager to make an impact in the organisation;
  • Passionate about the new emergent technologies and willing to learn.
