Who we are
The Directorate-General for Information Technologies and Cybersecurity (DG ITEC) delivers digitally advanced, secure, resilient, compliant and sustainable information and communications technology (ICT) services.
The Cybersecurity Governance Unit (CYBERGOV) is part of the Directorate for Cybersecurity and IT Governance (GOV), whose main mission is to ensure cybersecurity, by developing a set of policies and standards and their associated controls. The CYBERGOV is dedicated to cybersecurity governance, policy and user awareness for all the European Parliament's personnel and their ICT systems.
Your tasks
The trainee will be part of the Directorate-General for Information Technologies and Cybersecurity (GOV) and will focus on improving of existing cybersecurity policies and standards, participating to a series of user awareness sessions and exercises and contributing to the risk assessment analysis impacting the European Parliament's cybersecurity environment.
- The internship will mainly focus on cybersecurity policies, standards and guidelines:
- The intern will be part of a team helping to amend existing (or create new) cybersecurity policies, standards and guidelines;
- Assist with documentation and report writing for recommendations, mitigation and defence;
- Collection of tactics and techniques of attackers, documentation and kill chain development;
- Participate in the analysis of the risk assessment process;
- Contribute to a range of user awareness sessions and exercises.
You are
- Degree in ICT, ICT security or related sciences;
- Understanding of basic ICT security concepts, standards, policies procedures, tools and controls;
- Understanding of networking, E-mail technologies and software development;
- Experience of working with Windows or Linux operating systems;
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
- A strong desire to continuously learn and improve;
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
