Who we are
The Directorate-General for Logistics and Interpretation for Conferences (DG LINC) provides the linguistic, technical and logistical support for the organisation of the parliamentary meetings and conferences of EP Members and bodies. By supplying state-of-the-art conference facilities, including high-quality interpretation services and conference organisation, we contribute to facilitating the legislative process as well as helping to underpin the democratic legitimacy of the Institution.

The Multilingualism and Succession Planning Unit is responsible for ensuring that there are enough new interpreters in the booths with the right skills, quality and languages.
The unit cooperates with universities upstream, offering pedagogical and financial support, and then contributes to the organisation of accreditation and language-adding tests. It is a friendly team operating in a multicultural environment.
Your tasks
- Assisting with the organisation of virtual classes and masterclasses - preparation, implementation, follow-up;
- Assisting with the new EU Interpreting Academy;
- Attending meetings, drafting minutes, analysing data, consolidating results, reporting on feedback etc.;
- Liaising with other parts of the service - interpreters, heads of language units, IT unit - as well as potentially with our partners in other EU institutions;.
The traineeship should give you the opportunity to build on the knowledge acquired during your studies and to familiarise yourself with the activities of the European Parliament and to understand the institution better.

You are:
- Enthusiastic about the European Project, and eager to learn and to share knowledge;
- Comfortable with new technologies and you have a good sense of communication (oral, written, visual);
- Open, flexible and adaptable, have good team spirit and are willing to work within a small, friendly and motivated team;
- A trained conference interpreter. Experience in teaching and/or working on projects would be asset.
Fluency in English and/or in French (oral and written) is essential. Other languages would be an asset.
