Who we are
The Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics (DG INLO) is responsible for overseeing the European Parliament's vast infrastructure portfolio, which spans around 1.3 million square meters of building space across Europe. This includes a variety of tasks that are crucial to ensuring the smooth functioning and sustainability of the Parliament's operations. DG INLO's responsibilities go beyond just building management; it is also in charge of a range of essential services such as catering, mail distribution, furniture management, and transport for Parliament Members and staff. This comprehensive approach ensures that all physical and logistical needs are met, supporting the European Parliament’s political activities in a sustainable way.
Within DG INLO, the goal of the Brussels Facilities Management Unit is to ensure a high level of service in managing and maintaining the necessary facilities required for the activities of Members and Parliament staff in Brussels.
One of the Unit's team, the CLient Interface & Quality Control (CLiQC), has been created to facilitate and improve the contacts with clients and to control the quality of work of the numerous contractors
Allowing a direct contact and feedback between users and maintenance services, the CLiQC team aims at fostering effective communication. This team works closely with the Buildings Help Desk (BHD).
Your tasks
The trainee will support the Brussels Facility Management Unit, by:
- Driving a pilot project to reinforce the use of contemporary collaborative platforms (such as Teams) within the Unit;
- Assessing how a standardized Quality Assurance / Quality Control approach could reinforce the work done by the CLiQC team;
- Evaluating the quality of the work carried out by the contractors and ensure the customer interface on the site of the European Parliament in Brussels, in relation to contractual activities and intervention requests from the BHD;
- Proposing working methods to improve the practical follow-up of service providers;
- Assessing methodologies to measure stakeholder satisfaction;
- Contributing to communication initiatives to promote the Buildings Helpdesk.
You are
We are looking for a graduated engineer curious about technical facilities management and/or contract management. The ideal candidate should be proficient in computer tools such as Teams, Excel, Word and Powerpoint. Fluency in at least one of the two languages, English or French, is required.
The candidate should demonstrate motivation and enthusiasm for collaborating effectively with the institution, aiming to learn the workings of European Institutions. A curious mindset, willingness to learn and a can-do attitude are paramount to contribute positively to the work of the unit.
